sealed with a x

Every time I mend my kids clothes I put a little kiss on.
OK, permission to make sick noises, but it's in the Mum rule book, Rule No 45 - Do silly loving things to show you care.... Honest to goodness!  and this is my silly thing! ( along with putting messages in lunch boxes and drawing faces on bananas!

Monday Happiness...

5 things that have made me happy this weekend,
a rainbow in the veiw,
watching Lil, Sonny & Sky play Manopoly,

Lily saying to the hairdresser, " I'll have a bob please"
( she didn't have time to smile, she was the Banker, big responsibility need to concentrate!)

being included in this treasury, yellow is my favourite colour,

and this gorgeous girl, Rebecca Ferguson, singing on X-factor on Saturday night, who says the show doesn't find any talent?

What made you happy this weekend?
Have a wonderful week, we're on half term so lots of sports camps, art workshops and a Halloween party planned! If anyone has any good ideas for Halloween party games and food, let me know!

fab friday!

Yay!!!  I've survived the week!!
granted, coughing, spluttering and very snotty, sorry if that's too much info but I'm a visual person and like to paint a picture!

I went screen printing yesterday and it just makes you feel better getting out and about doesn't it?
I started my Autumn girl, a take on Spring breeze but only had time to do 3 colours, looks quite nice as it is though really! I had to get back for Lil and birthday business...

...and when you have a week of a cold bug high on Lemsips and whisky you can't always remember everything, and I forgot the birthday candles, (thought we might have had some half blown out in the bottom of the drawer somewhere, you know that drawer, the one that has odd batteries, take-away menu's, keys that you haven't a clue what they're for, everybody has one!)

So we improvised with an Ikea tea light!

Happy days!:)

Last week I did an online interview for the lovely Helen Aldous at Artonomy, and shared my experience as an 'online' artist. You can have a read here .
( it's really cringey when you read yourself back but I don't think I did too bad? let me know!)  Bookmark the site as I think it's a great online support for artists, illustrators and crafters who want to use the Internet to sell their work! I know I'm going to check in regularly because I'm far from expert in this field! I'm constantly learning as I go, well worth a look:)

'Laffter' has definitely been the best medicine for me.
Son makes me 'laff' so much, it's been Pink day at school today, where all the kids have to where pink and take in some money for a Breast Cancer Charity.
 Sonny refused point blank!
So I pinned a small square of pink paper to his top saying " this is my bit of pink, Sonny" ...he wasn't impressed! his face was a picture when I suggested he wear the girls pink feather boa!

One last "laff" for a happy and healthy weekend from one of my faves, have a good one x

Happy Birthday Lily!!!

Today my gorgeous Lily turns 11 years old,
man alive!  where has the time gone!
She gets more and more beautiful each year, inside and out and we're so proud of her and love her to bits! ( or as Sonny would say "I love you to the bits")

Last night I ran Lil a lovely warm bubbly birthday bath with candles to have a grand soak, after awhile she shouted " Mum come and look at me.... I'm a bubble monster "

She's definitely her mothers child!!
Happy birthday gorgeous  xxxxxx

having a 'laff'...

I'm still feeling rubbish,
just can't seem to shift this cold bug, it's gone onto my throat and chest and I don't think my voice will last out the day.... much to the kids delight!!
No amount of medicinal Whisky, Maltesers or Monster munch seem to be doing the trick so my next port of call is a bucket full of 'laffter' ( to be said in a Yorkshire accent ) after all they do say 'laffter' is the best medicine!
So here's the fab Patricia Routlege doing 'Kitty' written by the doubly fab Victoria Wood.

getting organized...

...well trying to!
I spent the morning in bed trying to sleep off a cold bug,
but after some hot water and ginger and a bag of Maltesers I seem to be on the mend!
I listed these Christmas postcards on Friday in my Etsy & Folksy (inspiration here!)

Off now for a medicinal whisky!
Hope your start to the week was a bit better than mine!:)

red hat...

Yesterday I went screen printing to produce a print on 20 x 20 cm,
why? I hear you ask,
well I'll tell you,
I'm taking part in 20:20 print exchange coordinated by the Hot Bed Press print studio in Manchester which involves producing 24 prints on 20cm square paper then submitting these prints to the workshop where they will compile a portfolio of 20 prints, one being yours and the rest other printers work! Each portfolio will be different so it will exciting to see what I get in my portfolio, I'll share with you when I get it:)

This is my contribution, Fossil hunting in red hat, Inspired by my lovely Lil at Runswick Bay

I printed 23 extras and have listed them in my shops here and here.

Well, man alive, where has that week gone!!!?
Weeks are truly flying by, too fast for my liking!
Lets just take a deep breath, sit and listen to this in preparation ...

...for another lovely crazy busy weekend! gave a good one:)

We bought this gorgeous lampshade from Lush Designs for the hall last week.
It looks so wonderful at the top of the stairs and the kids love it! especially the poor soul being nibbles by fish at the bottom of the Thames!
So much fab detail...

We really liked the Wild West cactus shade and the Wild West Horse shades too, so hard to choose which one to buy as they are all so brilliant!

They have a fantastic range of other products too, gorgeous cards, pot towels, bags and other gifts.
I love love these pillow cases here!
Check out Lush Designs shop and blog for more lovely products and the inspiration behind them!

Autumn walk...

Yesterday we went on a beautiful sunny autumn walk to collect sloe's for this Christmas' sloe gin!!!
(well it would be rude not to, it's tradition!)
We stopped at a bench to admire the view over one of the villages in the valley.
I just love family walks and having pockets of time just being together, being silly and having a 'laff' (to be said with Yorkshire accent!)

We spied this perfect little fairy seat, which Sky wanted me to snap for a nature club at school, it doesn't look real!

When we got home me & Son made this recycled robot for green week at school... Big foot for obvious reasons!... I love his hands that Sonny drew, looks like he wants to give you a big hug!

We had such a lovely relaxing weekend, hope you did too, all ready for a creative week!

Have an ace weekend :)

My creative space...

I know, I know it's only October, I think it's just the nature of my job that makes me have to think of Christmas early, and Christmas has arrived early in my creative space today.

My inspiration is my talented Sky,

who on holiday drew this fab picture of different creatures all with a blue and red pencil.
I loved the colouring and thought it would make a great colour pallet for Christmas and compared to the traditional green and red I think it's worked well!

Grab a mince pie and skate over to Kootoyoo this evening for more creative spaces!

Lil Sonny Sky's book of the week...

This is a little self indulgent as this is more my book of the week than Lil, Sonny & Sky's as I've not read it to them yet ( Vintage books don't seem to compete with this, this and this at the mo!!...books for another time! eeee my kids are growing up tooo fast!)

The little pigeon of Trafalgar Square was first published in 1968 and is about a little strange looking pigeon who lives with his family on Nelson's column and his little adventure due to him looking a little different.
The illustrations by Dale Maxey, are gorgeous and so original...

I can't find hardly any info on Dale Maxey but I'm going to keep an eye out for more books.
I picked this book up a while ago for £2.99 at a second hand book shop and it's been a very inspirational find!
